FUSION 2016 Awards

The Fusion 2016 organization team is delighted to offer

  • the ISIF 2016 Jean-Pierre Le Cadre Best Paper Award (winning paper and two runners-up)
  • and the ISIF 2016 Tammy Blair Best Student Paper Award (winning paper and two runners-up).

The International Society for Information Society (ISIF) offers

  • the ISIF 2016 Yaakov Bar-Shalom Award for a Lifetime of Excellence in Information Fusion
  • and the ISIF 2016 Young Investigator Award.

All awards will be presented at the Fusion 2016 Gala Dinner in the evening of Thursday, July 7.


ISIF 2016 Jean-Pierre Le Cadre Best Paper Award

This award recognizes excellence among researchers and scientists in information fusion, which was a central theme throughout Jean-Pierre Le Cadre's distinguished career. In addition to the best paper award, as judged by the Awards Committee, there will also be awards for the two runners-up. All awardees will receive certificates and cash prices.

Award Winners:

  • Jean-Pierre Le Cadre Best Paper Award: Sandeep Gutta, Qi Cheng, Hoa Nguyen, Bruce Benjamin for the paper titled "Model-based Data-driven Approach for Sleep Apnea Detection"
  • Jean-Pierre Le Cadre Best Paper Award, First Runner-up: Roslyn A. Lau and Jason L. Williams for the paper titled "A Structured Mean Field Approach for Existence-based Multiple Target Tracking"
  • Jean-Pierre Le Cadre Best Paper Award, Second Runner-up: Branko Ristic and Peter Dawson for the paper titled "Real-time Forecasting of an Epidemic Outbreak: Ebola 2014/2015 Case Study"

ISIF 2016 Tammy Blair Best Student Paper Award

This award encourages the involvement of young researchers and scientists in information fusion. It honors Tammy L. Blair's commitment to our society. In addition to the best student paper, as judged by the Awards Committee, two runners-up will be recognized. All awardees will receive certificates and cash prices. ISIF 2016 Yaakov Bar-Shalom Award for a Lifetime of Excellence in Information Fusion

This award is sponsored by the International Society for Information Fusion (ISIF) to recognize a researcher or engineer for outstanding contributions to the field of information fusion throughout their career. Contributions include technical advances, technical vision and leadership, education and mentoring, novel applications of information fusion and the associated engineering achievements, and service to ISIF. This award may be given annually, if outstanding candidates are nominated, but it is expected to be given at least once every 3 years because individuals with the anticipated level of contributions to information fusion throughout a career will be rare. The award will be presented at the annual International Conference on Information Fusion. ISIF 2016 Young Investigator Award

This annual award is sponsored by the International Society of Information Fusion (ISIF). The purpose of this award is to grant international recognition for outstanding contributions to the art of information fusion by a young ISIF member. The goals of the ISIF in granting this award are to encourage individual effort and to foster increased participation by developing researchers and engineers. This ISIF award consists of a commemorative recognition plaque and travel grant to receive the award.
